On Nicknames
K: I'm going to buy you a donut to commemorate the first time we had sex.
S: The penis donut?
K: Yes. And I'm going to name it after you. I will name it the Spear of Victory.

Grandmother: What happened to your neck?
TGA: Shaving accident.
Mother: What the hell were you shaving?
TGA: Those wolverines don't take kindly to that kind of treatment...
GM: Is there more dressing? Didn't you stuff this bird from both ends?
M: She got it from both ends. We've eaten it all from the front.
Father: Here! And hold all comments, please.

New hardware! Holy good goddamn Mini-OS
Dec. 1st, 2008 | 09:41 pm
I bought a cheap laptop off Newegg. It's great, but there's one feature in particular that's really polarizing my osmotic conversion displacer coil.
There's a second power button that boots a mini-OS. It's designed to be up quick, and it's just enough to run a browser and an instant messaging client. Brilliant! When you're trying to just look something up quickly, you don't want to boot Windows, let me tell you what. And you don't necessarily want to keep an eye on the boot so you can catch the boot loader, either.
Now I want to be able to install my own mini-OS, too. You could potentially have a range of choices for your mini-OS just as wide as for your regular OS. You could have a cell phone or PDA running a compatible mini-OS and sharing software and interfaces and what-have-you. I love you, second power button.
